The activity is what an executive offsite gets remembered for, and it is also the hardest part to get right, because a leadership team is rarely one standard of fitness or one age.
Padel is the rare sport a mixed-age, mixed-ability team can play together within an hour of picking up a racket. The court is enclosed and the ball comes back, so rallies last and beginners hit shots on day one.
It is four to a court rather than two, so it rotates and everybody ends up playing with everybody. And the court is small enough that people talk the whole way through, which is the part that does the real work.
Golf, by comparison, takes five hours and rewards the people who already play.
That is the case for the sport. What follows is how to find the villa, what it costs per person per night, where to go depending on where the team is flying from, and then the practical half, which is what an executive assistant actually needs and what most guides leave out.
Essentials
- Where
Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Greece for a team flying from London or anywhere in Europe, and the Western Cape for a team based in South Africa or in Cape Town for a conference. Morocco on request.
- Group size
Eight to twenty-four guests, the whole villa, one group at a time.
- Per person per night
From about €49 in the quiet weeks to about €1,921 at the top of the summer, the villa full.
- The week
From €3,450 to €175,000 for the whole villa. Figures as at October 2026.
- Shortest stay
Twelve villas take three nights or fewer in some part of the year, which suits a Thursday-to-Sunday offsite. Most of the European villas take a week in July and August.
- Best months
May, June, September and October in Europe. November to March in the Cape. October to April in Marrakech.
- Getting there
Under three hours from London to Lisbon, Faro, Ibiza, Palma and Ancona. Nearly twelve, overnight, to Cape Town.
- Added to the week
A concierge, a driver, a chef and a coach, arranged by me and quoted as one price with the villa.
Short on time? Skip to the questions and answers, which sum up the piece.
How do you find a private villa with a padel court for a company retreat?
Start with the court, because it is the one thing a villa cannot add for your dates. Most villa agencies filter for a pool, a gym or a tennis court, and a padel court appears as a line in the amenities if it appears at all. Padel Hideaways is built the other way round: every villa is chosen for its court first and taken whole by one group at a time, so the court is settled before the search begins and the rest of the week can be planned around it.
What does a corporate padel villa cost per person per night?
Per person per night is the figure that survives a finance review, and it is the one a villa listing most often leaves you to work out. Divide the week by seven nights and by the beds, and the collection runs from about €49 per person per night in the quiet weeks to about €1,921 at the top of the summer, and twelve villas come in under €250 per person per night at the lowest rate of their year.
Two things move that figure more than the choice of villa does. The first is the week.
The second is the headcount. Every figure on this page assumes the villa is full, so a team of twelve in a villa that sleeps sixteen is paying for four empty beds, and each villa page carries the same calculation for the number you actually have.
What actually decides a corporate padel retreat
Climate, food and scenery are the easy part and they are strong in every country on this page. Three things decide whether the week works on the ground.
- Court access
Not whether the country has courts. Whether your fifteen people can have one, all week, without booking slots. On a whole-villa booking with a court inside the gate, the answer is yes by definition, and there is nothing to coordinate. Any other arrangement means fitting the day of the group around a booking made in advance, which is the one thing an offsite schedule reliably breaks.
- Transfer time
Arrival day is the day an offsite is won or lost. Ninety minutes in a minibus after a flight is a different mood from twenty.
- The playing window
July and August are the hot months across southern Europe, level with each other, and most groups shape the day around them: early on the court, the pool in the middle, back out in the evening. Late September takes a few degrees off the hottest hours, so more of the day is comfortable on court and the light still runs long. Worth knowing before you set the dates.
Where should a company take its padel retreat?
The answer depends less on the country than on where the team is flying from. From London, Lisbon, Faro, Ibiza, Palma and Ancona are all under three hours, Corfu about three, Crete nearer four, and Syros a connection through Athens. From Johannesburg the Cape is a two-hour domestic flight, and from London it is an overnight of nearly twelve hours with only two hours of time difference in the European winter.
The playing window is the other half of it, and it reads month by month in the table below.

Portugal: the lowest rates and an hour from Lisbon
The case for Portugal is not the count. Spain has more villas with a court of their own. The case for Portugal is that the Alentejo coast is an hour south of Lisbon, the villas there sit on land rather than on plots, and the rates start lower than anywhere else in the collection.
Villa Branca in Comporta sleeps fourteen in six suites under the pines, an hour from Lisbon. Its court is floodlit, which gives you the evening, and shaded down one side, which matters more than it sounds: the half of the group not playing has somewhere to sit and watch rather than somewhere to escape from. For an offsite that detail is worth more than a spa.
Villa Kaba at Melides is the seclusion play. Forty-four private hectares, five king suites for ten, padel and tennis and pétanque, no neighbour in sight and none in earshot. Ninety minutes from Lisbon. For a leadership group that needs to be uninterruptible, this is the one.
Villa Kiyomi is the largest in the collection: three buildings on twenty-three fenced hectares of woodland at Carvalhal, twelve bedrooms for twenty-four, with the court on the same plot. Twenty-four is enough for a real villa tournament, and a draw sheet mixes a company faster than a seating plan does.
Villa Quail puts twelve inside a protected nature reserve in the Comporta area, with a yoga deck for the mornings people do not play.
In the Algarve, Quinta Cipreste is a restored farmhouse above Boliqueime on three fenced hectares of cypress and olive, ten in five suites, twenty-five minutes from Faro, with a floodlit court that plays in every month of the year. Sublime Cabana Villa is the smallest here, four suites for eight in the pines at Comporta, with the resort’s courts, spa and beach club a short walk behind it.

Spain: the largest villas and the most variety
The case for Spain is scale and choice. Villa Clarence is a 300-year-old Ibicencan farmstead with nine suites for eighteen, a cinema, a sauna and a court set among the olive terraces where nobody overlooks a point. Casa Incendio and Villa Cami each take sixteen on Ibiza, fifteen and twenty minutes from the airport, which is about as short as a European transfer gets. On Mallorca, Sa Punta de S'Àguila takes ten on a private estate inside the protected Tramuntana, forty minutes from Palma.
Ibiza holds three more. Villa Cantalou is a pueblo-style estate for sixteen at Es Cubells, and Villa Solea puts twelve of you on the quiet south coast five minutes on foot from dinner, with a volleyball court beside the padel. Villa Fusion at Sant Josep takes ten with a sauna, a hammam and a massage room, on a court it shares with two neighbouring villas.
Ibiza in June or September is a materially different island from Ibiza in August in ways that have nothing to do with the weather.

South Africa: the Cape, for local teams and conference weeks
A steady share of the enquiries for a company padel week come from Johannesburg and Cape Town, where the sport is already in the building. For a team based there, the Cape is the easier trip: a domestic flight, a rate held in rand and shown in euro beside it, and estates that take a leadership team whole.
It is also the offsite a company can fold into a trip it is making anyway. Cape Town hosts Investing in African Mining Indaba every February and ILTM Africa, the invitation-only meeting of the high-end travel trade, in April. A leadership team flying in for either can take an estate for the nights around it: the days on court and at the table before the conference, or the debrief after it, with the estates in the city’s southern suburbs and the winelands within an easy drive.
The season is the mirror of the European one, and it is the part worth planning around. A Cape offsite runs from November to March, the months the European villas are in their quiet season, so a team with people on both continents gets a week playing outdoors in the warm at the one time of year Europe cannot offer it.
The estates also take shorter stays than most of the villas in Europe do in summer: all six will take a group for two or three nights in the quieter months.
Oakvale Estate in Franschhoek is the one built for the working half of an offsite. It has a private golf putting green in the same stretch of farm as the court, and inside the estate’s art gallery a dedicated conference space, made for meetings and for brainstorming away from the boardroom.

France: the shortest walk to a beach
Villa Sabbia sits above La Croix-Valmer on the quiet side of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, eight bedrooms for seventeen, fifty minutes from Toulon Hyères. The court is in the garden below the terraces and floodlit for the long evenings, with a ping-pong table and a pétanque piste on the sideline and a gym for anyone who would rather train than play.
The beach is nine minutes on foot. The name next door does the crowds so this village does not have to.

Italy: one rate all year in the Marche hills
Maniero is outside Montecassiano in the hills inland of the Adriatic, eighteen of you across the main villa and an apartment opposite, forty minutes from Ancona. The court is full size, twenty by ten, with panoramic glass at both ends and the olive grove around it, and it was built by Fabrizio, who owns the place. The rate is the same in February as it is in August, which for a company that sets its offsite by the calendar rather than the weather makes it the simplest row on this page.
- Maniero
Sleeps eighteen, Le Marche, Italy: €22,400 for 7 nights, the same every week of the year. Shortest stay 3 nights.

Greece: three very different islands
Villa Oréa is a glass-lined villa above the Ionian on Corfu, thirty minutes from the airport, ten in five suites, with a heated 25-metre pool, a court between the olives and the pool, and a pétanque piste alongside it so the people not playing have somewhere to be. The Ionian climate is kinder than the Aegean: still mornings, long playable evenings.
On the south coast of Crete, Keras Cliff House is cut into a clifftop above the Libyan Sea near Agia Galini, twelve in six rooms, with its own court on a terrace a level below the villa, lit for the evening, and nothing behind the back fence but the water and the two Paximadia islands. It is ninety minutes from Heraklion, and the pool, the sauna and the hammam are heated through the winter, which makes it one of the few villas on this page that works for an offsite in March as well as in June.
Villa Finsbury is on Syros, fifteen minutes from its own small airport, a main house and three guest villas above the water with a sea-view court and a staircase down to a private pier. The meltemi is a summer wind worth planning around, and morning games are the advice of the island itself.

Morocco, on request
Marrakech is the one place on this page that plays best when the rest of Europe has closed its terraces for the year. It sits at about 19° in January and 24° by March, with snow on the High Atlas in plain sight from the palm groves on the city’s edge, and it is under four hours from London, which puts a winter offsite in sunshine without a long-haul flight. The summer is the other way round, at 38° in July and August, so the season here runs from October to April.
The villas in Morocco are let on terms that keep them off a public page, so I share them directly: send me the dates and the headcount and I will send you the ones that fit.

The practical half
This is the section that decides whether the trip is easy to run, and it is why the whole-villa format suits a group of this size.
- No other guests
The whole property goes to one group, which means a conversation on the terrace is a private conversation. For anything strategy-adjacent this is not a nice-to-have, it is the requirement.
- Bedrooms, not beds
A team of sixteen is rarely eight couples, and at senior level a good number of them will expect a room of their own. That makes the suite count the number to read, not the sleeping figure. A villa that sleeps sixteen in eight suites holds eight executives in their own rooms, not sixteen. The largest in the collection on this measure are Villa Kiyomi at twelve bedrooms, Paddakloof at ten, all en suite, and Villa Clarence at nine suites, with Villa Sabbia and Villa Cami at eight bedrooms each.
- Then the configuration
For the rest of the party, ask which doubles split to twins. Most of the doubles at Villa Cami do, Sa Punta de S'Àguila is configurable, and Paddakloof mixes kings and twin-shares. That is what lets one villa hold a mix of people travelling alone, colleagues sharing and couples, which is what a leadership team usually is.
- A company, said out loud
Say at the enquiry that the booking is for a company, and whether anyone from outside the group will join for a session or a dinner, so the villa can confirm it before anything is signed. Villa rules differ: Quinta Cipreste, for one, takes no parties and asks that every guest is thirty-five or over.
- Somewhere to work
Wifi is on the features list of every villa in the collection, and a few have a room set aside for work: the study at Villa Intaba and at Villa Kilimani, and the office at Villa Oréa. For a session with a screen, tell the concierge what the room needs rather than assuming the television will do.
- One table
Ask for the seated capacity of the dining table, not the sleeping capacity of the villa. A group that eats in two rooms comes home as two groups. The table at Villa Oréa seats fourteen for a villa that sleeps ten, and the plot at Villa Kiyomi takes twenty-four. Not every villa answers this well, and the answer is on each villa page.
- Transfers as a group
Ask for a driver for the whole party. Arriving together and leaving together removes the two most fiddly hours of the itinerary.
- What the non-players do
Part of every team will not want to play twice a day, and the villa has to have somewhere for them that is not their room. A yoga deck, a pétanque piste, a gym, a swimmable pool. Look for it deliberately rather than hoping.
- One quote
Agree the whole week as a single quoted figure before anything is confirmed, with the concierge, driver, chef and coach quoted together with the villa rather than itemised afterwards.
- A coach on the first morning
Ninety minutes of structured coaching on day one gets a room of beginners and a couple of regular players into the same game. It also removes the sport as a source of anxiety before the first dinner.
How the villas are chosen
Every villa is written up under the same structure before it appears, and the court comes first: good enough to play on twice in a day, or the villa is not here, whatever else it has. Then seven categories in the same order on every page, from the villa as a place for a group through the setting, the court, the kitchen, the relaxation, the service on site and the feeling of the week. Nothing is scored. For an executive assistant comparing a farmstead on Ibiza against a wine estate in the Cape, that means the same seven headings in the same order on both pages instead of two brochures written by two agencies.
What makes a high-end private padel court goes through the glass, the surface, the floodlights and the base underneath them in the detail a specification needs. Where the decision is the group rather than the country, the six questions that turn a long list into a short one does that half of the work.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find a private villa with a padel court for a corporate retreat?
Start with the court rather than the villa, because it is the one thing that cannot be added for your dates. Padel Hideaways is a collection of villas chosen for their padel courts, each taken whole by one group, in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and South Africa, with Morocco on request. Some villas are never marketed publicly, and I put those forward to a group with dates and a headcount.
What does a villa with a padel court cost per person per night?
Across the collection, from about €49 per person per night in the quiet weeks to about €1,921 at the top of the summer, the villa full. Twelve villas are under €250 per person per night at the lowest rate of their year. The peak week costs a median 68% more than the shoulder for the same villa.
Which padel villas are a short flight from London?
Portugal, Spain and Italy are all under three hours: Lisbon for Comporta and Melides, Faro for the Algarve, Ibiza and Palma for the Spanish islands, Ancona for the Marche. Corfu is about three hours and Crete nearer four. Cape Town is a nearly twelve-hour overnight with two hours of time difference in the European winter.
Can we book a padel villa for three nights rather than a week?
Yes, at twelve villas in the collection for at least part of the year, including all six Cape villas in their quieter months and Villa Clarence on Ibiza all year. Most European villas take a full week in July and August. Each villa page states its own shortest stay by season.
Which country is best for a corporate padel retreat?
Portugal, for most groups, on transfers and range: an hour to ninety minutes from Lisbon to the Alentejo villas, and a September that averages 27°. Spain has the most villas with a court of their own and the shortest transfers on Ibiza. France puts a beach nine minutes from the court. Greece splits between the calm Ionian and the windier Aegean. For a team based in South Africa, or in Cape Town for a conference, the Western Cape, from November to March.
How many people can a padel villa hold for an offsite?
Eight to twenty-four across the collection, and ten upwards for a group of this kind. Villa Kiyomi is the largest at twenty-four across three buildings, Villa Clarence takes eighteen and Villa Sabbia seventeen. If everyone needs a room of their own, read the bedroom count instead: Villa Kiyomi has twelve, Paddakloof ten, all en suite, and Villa Clarence nine suites.
When is the best time of year for a padel offsite?
May and June, or September and October. Average daytime temperatures across the region run 29° to 31° in August and 25° to 27° in September, and those few degrees decide how much of the day is comfortable on court. In the Cape the season runs the other way, November to March, and Marrakech is at its best from October to April.
Is a private villa better than a hotel for a corporate retreat?
For a group of ten to twenty-four, yes, on three counts that matter to whoever is organising it. The property goes to one group, so there is no confidentiality problem. At nearly every villa the court is the villa’s own, so there are no slots to book. And the week is quoted as one figure rather than reconciled from the room, food and beverage lines of a hotel afterwards.
Can you arrange coaching, a chef and transfers?
Yes. I arrange a concierge, a driver, a chef and a coach and quote them as one price with the villa rather than priced individually. Some villas already have a concierge or a chef in the rate, and the rows above say which. For a first padel offsite, coaching on the opening morning is the piece that earns its cost fastest.
How far ahead should a corporate padel retreat be booked?
Peak summer weeks go early, and the villas that hold eighteen or more go earliest. May, June, September and October hold availability considerably longer, and they are also the better months to play, so an offsite is one of the few trips where the easy dates and the good ones are the same dates.
Can a corporate padel retreat be done in South Africa?
Yes. For a team based in Johannesburg or Cape Town it is the easier trip: a domestic flight, a rate held in rand, and estates that take a leadership team whole. It also fits around a conference already in the diary, such as Investing in African Mining Indaba in February or ILTM Africa in April, both in Cape Town. The season is the mirror of the European one, so a Cape offsite runs from November to March, and most of the estates take two or three nights in the quieter months. From London it is a nearly twelve-hour overnight with two hours of time difference in January.
