Is there a security deposit at Villa Intaba?

The villa sets its own security deposit, and it is written into your agreement. We will give you the figure for your dates with your quote.

When do we arrive, and can we book a shorter stay?

Check-in can be any day, with a minimum of three nights. Tell us your dates and we will confirm with the villa.

Which airport do we fly into for Villa Intaba?

Cape Town International (CPT), about twenty-five minutes away by road. Add the Driver and you are met at arrivals and driven in.

What comes with the villa, and what can I add at Villa Intaba?

The whole villa, yours alone, 7 suites for 14. Add the concierge, a driver, a chef and a coach and we plan the week and come back with one price.

When do I pay for Villa Intaba, and what if we have to cancel?

50% of the week confirms the booking and the other 50% is the balance before you arrive. The dates for both are on the booking form. Both payments are non-refundable once made. Should you need to cancel or shorten the stay, the portfolio will try to re-let the nights, and where it does, the owner may refund them, less 3% for rebooking. Serious travel disruption is considered case by case with the owner.

Does Villa Intaba have its own padel court?

Yes. A new private glass court with floodlights, in the tiered gardens of the villa in Bishopscourt, and an indoor squash court on the lower floor.

What is there at Villa Intaba besides the padel court?

An indoor squash court, a five-thousand-square-foot gym of Skelcore equipment with a Pilates reformer, a hammam with spring-water showers, a steam room, a jacuzzi, a spa with a fish pool, a cold plunge and an outdoor rain shower, with a heated lap pool in the garden, a cinema for twelve for the evenings, and a ground-floor flat that a chef or a nanny of your own can take.

How far is Villa Intaba from Cape Town airport and the winelands?

About twenty-five minutes from Cape Town International, fifteen from the city and ten from the wine farms of the Constantia valley, where La Colombe, Steenberg and Beau Constantia are all a short drive away.

How much does a week at Villa Intaba cost for fourteen people?

From R553,000 for seven nights between March and September, which is R39,500 each for fourteen. October to February is the Cape summer, at R840,000 per week or R60,000 each, and Easter and the April long weekend sit at that end too. In euros the rate runs between about €3,950 and €6,000 per night, confirmed at the rate on the day, and shorter stays from three nights are possible.

Can a private chef cook every night at Villa Intaba?

No chef comes with the villa, but we arrange one on request, for as many nights as you want, with menus agreed before you arrive.

Villa With a Padel Court in Bishopscourt

The Villa for a Group

Sleeping, and a room for your staff: Seven bedrooms, all en suite, five kings and two queens. Bring a chef or a nanny of your own and they take the private studio flat on the ground floor, which is one of the seven.
Flow, and where the group gathers: The entrance hall opens to living areas on both sides and the mountain straight ahead. A games room, a bar, a study, a cinema for twelve and the gym split the group without scattering it, with fireplaces indoors and out for the evenings and the spa on the floor below.
Sleep, and room to do nothing: Underfloor heating under every floor for the Cape winter, a lamplit corridor through to the bedroom lounge, and a garden big enough that fourteen people can each find a daybed and an afternoon of their own.

The Setting

Seclusion & neighbour distance: Two and a half acres of acacia, old ficus and tiered hedges in Bishopscourt, entered by a winding drive through the trees. No neighbours in sight from the front, only the mountain.
Nature, light & views: Table Mountain fills the view behind the pool, and the balconies upstairs look out to it as well.
Quiet, with the city close: A green corner of Bishopscourt under the back of the mountain, fifteen minutes from the city and ten from the Constantia wine farms.

The Padel Court

Private, and only yours: A new glass court in the tiered gardens below the villa, floodlit so you can play after dark. Bright green turf inside black steel, and a pergola with shade sails for anyone watching. Our founder has walked it.
The squash court: Indoors on the lower floor, so there is a second game to play out of the midday sun.
Coaching, and who comes to the court: Coaching is added to the week: elite Cape coaches with competition behind them, each one played with by us or sent to us by a coach we already trust. English taught, and a mixed group sorts itself out inside one warm-up.

The Kitchen

The chef, and the kitchen: The kitchen is yours, and for the nights you want a chef, we source one and quote it with the week. The French copper kitchen has a walk-in fridge and drinks fridges, and the dining table seats sixteen.
Local food, a short drive: Constantia's restaurants are ten minutes away: La Colombe at Silvermist, Bistro Sixteen82 and Catharina's at Steenberg, and Beau Constantia, with its glass room over the valley.
The wine, and the cellar: The oldest wine valley in the southern hemisphere starts at the bottom of the hill, and the villa keeps a cellar and a bar to bring it home to.

The Relaxation

The hammam and the spa: The villa has its own hammam with spring-water showers, as well as a steam room, a jacuzzi and a cold plunge. In the spa there is a fish pool for your feet, and a rain shower runs in the open air.
The pool, and the water beyond it: A heated lap pool banked by lawn and massive daybeds on the garden's first level, ornate ponds beyond it.
The gym, and what is in it: Five thousand square feet of gym, fitted with Skelcore equipment and a reformer Pilates machine, so a morning session here asks nothing of you but the walk down to it.

The Service on Site

Who is on site: Two housekeepers look after the villa every day and handle the laundry. They live on the grounds, in a staff room of their own.
The grounds, and the gate: Grounds, pool and courts kept. Twenty-four hour surveillance and a security team on the intercom.
Power, whatever the grid does: Inverters carry the main rooms through a power cut, so the living spaces stay lit and the evening goes on when the grid goes down.

The Feeling

The architecture: The villa is built in Indian Dholpur sandstone, inspired by the work of the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Light bounces off every symmetrical surface.
Fourteen of you, all at once: Four on the glass court and two waiting their turn under the shade sails, one in the hammam, three asleep on the daybeds by the lap pool, somebody downstairs on the squash court, and the last three already round the long table with the wine open.
Arrival & sense of place: The iron gates, the avenue of acacias, the sandstone holding the last light, and lanterns standing along the edge of the lily pond at the door.
