Is there a security deposit at Villa Kilimani?

The villa sets its own security deposit, and it is written into your agreement. We will give you the figure for your dates with your quote.

When do we arrive, and can we book a shorter stay?

Check-in can be any day, and the minimum runs from two nights to seven depending on the season. Two nights from May to November, three on public holiday weekends and four in March and April. Five from 1 to 14 December and from 16 January to the end of February, and seven from 15 December to 15 January, or fourteen if your stay takes in both Christmas and New Year. Tell us your dates and we will confirm with the villa.

Which airport do we fly into for Villa Kilimani?

Cape Town International (CPT), about thirty minutes away by road. Add the Driver and you are met at arrivals and driven in.

What comes with the villa, and what can I add at Villa Kilimani?

The whole villa, yours alone, 5 suites for 10. A concierge comes with the villa. Add a driver, a chef and a coach and we plan the week and come back with one price.

When do I pay for Villa Kilimani, and what if we have to cancel?

50% of the week confirms the booking and the other 50% is the balance before you arrive. The dates for both are on the booking form. Both payments are non-refundable once made. Should you need to cancel or shorten the stay, the portfolio will try to re-let the nights, and where it does, the owner may refund them, less 3% for rebooking. Serious travel disruption is considered case by case with the owner.

Villa Kilimani is priced in rand. What will it actually cost me?

Villa Kilimani is priced in rand, so the euro figures here follow the exchange rate. Per night for the whole villa: about €2,825 from May to September, €3,350 in October, November, March and April, €3,850 from 1 to 14 December and from 16 January to the end of February, and €5,625 from 15 December to 15 January. Tell us your dates and we will confirm the figure at the rate on the day and put both currencies in the quote.

Does Villa Kilimani have its own padel court?

Yes. A private, floodlit glass court with a terracotta surface, in the villa's garden in Constantia, among stone pines with the mountains behind it, and yours alone for your stay. Our founder has walked it.

The Villa for a Group

Sleeping, and who goes where: Five bedrooms, all en suite, sleep ten: four upstairs over the garden, and a ground-floor cottage with a terrace of its own for extra privacy.
The kitchen, and the braai: The open-plan Bulthaup kitchen leads onto the covered terrace, so you stay part of the group while you cook, and there's a built-in gas braai outdoors.
Flow, and where the group gathers: Courtyards link the living spaces, giving your group room to gather and quiet corners to retreat to. Upstairs there's a pyjama lounge with a projector, and the fire pit outside seats sixteen.

The Setting

Seclusion & neighbour distance: Two hectares of indigenous garden surround the villa, with the mountain behind and no other building in view.
Nature, light & views: You can walk from the villa to Kirstenbosch on a nature trail. The fynbos garden is home to sugarbirds, butterflies and a resident owl.
Quiet, with the city close: The villa sits in Constantia's green belt, among its horse paths. The city, the False Bay tidal pools and the Atlantic beaches are each about twenty minutes away, and Cape Town International about thirty.

The Padel Court

Private, and only yours: The glass court is set on the lawns among the stone pines, with a terracotta surface inside black steel. It's floodlit for matches late into the evening, and Cape mornings are calm for an early game.
The view from it: Look up between points and the mountains that ring Constantia fill the far end of the court.
Coaching, and who comes to the court: You can add coaching to your stay with top local pros we know personally, who have competition experience and teach in English. Every coach has played with us or come recommended by someone we trust.

The Kitchen

The chef, and the shopping: The kitchen is yours, and for the nights you want a chef, we source one and quote it with your stay. Menus are agreed before you arrive, and the villa manager handles the shopping.
Local food, a short drive: Chardonnay Deli at High Constantia is the locals' choice for everyday shopping, and the restaurants La Colombe, Foxcroft and Bistro Sixteen82 are all within ten minutes.
The wine, and the cellar: The Constantia valley's wine estates start at the gate: Buitenverwachting, Beau Constantia and Steenberg. We can arrange private tastings at the villa, which has a wine cellar of its own.

The Relaxation

The gym, and the steam room: There's a fully equipped gym in its own pavilion, a steam room off the main suite and an outdoor courtyard for yoga. We can arrange spa treatments at the villa.
The pool, and the garden: The pool is set in the lawn, with deep loungers, umbrellas and beach towels provided. Elsewhere in the garden, children have a treehouse, a zip line through the canopy, a trampoline and a climbing wall.

The Service on Site

Who is on site: A resident villa manager is with you through your stay, and we're on call for everything else. Two housekeepers service the villa every day, weekends included, and the laundry is done on site.
The grounds, and the gate: Two gardeners look after the grounds, Monday to Saturday. An alarm, security beams and armed response protect the villa, and there's a lock-up garage for your cars.
Power, whatever the grid does: Full solar and inverter power keeps the villa running through any power cut, and there's a BMW charging station for an electric car.

The Feeling

The architecture: Designed by the architects SAOTA, Villa Kilimani is a glass-walled home angled to face the mountain.
Fireplaces and heating: For the cooler months from May to September, there's a fireplace in the formal lounge and a pellet fire in the family room. Every bedroom has a heated blanket, and the bathrooms have underfloor heating.
