Is there a security deposit at Paddakloof?

The villa sets its own security deposit, and it is written into your agreement. We will give you the figure for your dates with your quote.

When do we arrive, and can we book a shorter stay?

Check-in can be any day, and the minimum runs from three nights to five depending on the season. The five-night minimum applies from 15 December to 15 January. Tell us your dates and we will confirm with the villa.

Which airport do we fly into for Paddakloof?

Cape Town International (CPT), about fifty minutes away by road. Add the Driver and you are met at arrivals and driven in.

What comes with the villa, and what can I add at Paddakloof?

The whole villa, yours alone, 10 suites for 20. A concierge comes with the villa. Add a driver, a chef and a coach and we plan the week and come back with one price.

When do I pay for Paddakloof, and what if we have to cancel?

50% of the week confirms the booking and the other 50% is the balance before you arrive. The dates for both are on the booking form. Both payments are non-refundable once made. Should you need to cancel or shorten the stay, the portfolio will try to re-let the nights, and where it does, the owner may refund them, less 3% for rebooking. Serious travel disruption is considered case by case with the owner.

Does Paddakloof have its own padel court?

Yes. A private, floodlit glass court sunk into the garden of the farm in Franschhoek, with its own stone clubhouse, a sound system and a heated pool beside it, under the Franschhoek mountains.

The Villa for a Group

Sleeping: Ten en-suite bedrooms sleep a group of twenty: nine with a king bed and one with two twin beds. Seven are in the manor house and three in the cottage, and two on the manor's ground floor share a kitchenette and lounge, which suits a family. Every room has air conditioning that heats as well as cools. A separate staff suite means you can bring a nanny or your own chef.
The long table: One long table in The Barn seats all twenty of you together.
Flow: With its terraces, pools and pavilion, the estate gives your group space to gather and quiet corners to retreat to.

The Setting

Seclusion, with the town close: Paddakloof is a working wine farm, quiet and private within its own vines and olive groves. Franschhoek town is five minutes away.
The view: The Franschhoek mountains stand behind the farm, in view from the pool, the lily pond and some of the bedrooms.
The land: Walking paths run through the farm, past the walled garden and the ponds, and five e-bikes are yours to use on the estate.

The Padel Court

The court, and its clubhouse: A private glass court set into the garden inside sandstone walls, floodlit for matches into the evening. Its own stone clubhouse stands at one end, with a heated pool and a shaded lounge a few steps away. You play under the Franschhoek mountains.
How the court is built: The court is a Padel Galis Mundial 160: full size at 20 metres by 10, built to international regulation and rated for winds of over 160 km/h. Our founder has walked it. A sound system is wired into the court, so your music plays courtside.
Coaching, and who comes to the court: You can add coaching to your stay with top local pros we know personally: Cape professionals with competition experience, who teach in English. Every coach has played with us or come recommended by someone we trust.

The Kitchen

The chef, and the kitchen: The Barn's restaurant-grade kitchen is yours, with a pizza oven outside and a stone braai in the dining room. For the nights you want a chef, you can add the estate's own at an extra cost.
Eating out: Some of South Africa's best restaurants are in Franschhoek village, and we can book your tables before you arrive.
The wine: Two cellars, one underground, hold the farm's own wines beside Chilean and French bottles, and we can arrange a V-collection tasting for you.

The Relaxation

The pools: The estate has four pools, one of them a heated 27-metre eco-pool, along with a jacuzzi and the largest untouched eco dam in the country.
The gym: A full gym with a pilates reformer and a cold-water plunge.
Sauna and pavilion: An infra-red sauna that looks at the mountains, and a yoga pavilion set apart from the rest.

The Service on Site

Who is on site: A butler and a concierge look after you on the estate, with housekeeping, laundry and turndown every day. The staff live on the farm.
The grounds: The farm, its pools, the gym and the padel court are looked after every day.
The airport, and a driver: Cape Town International is about fifty minutes away. You can add a driver at an extra cost, to meet you at arrivals and to take you through the winelands and along the coast.
