Sleeping & en-suite quality
Five bedrooms, all en suite with walk-in showers, all with 180-wide beds, a safe and a sea view. One comes with a jacuzzi on its own terrace.
Flow & shared living
A main house and a guest house, so grandparents, teenagers or the early-to-bed get distance without absence. An elevator, a games room with a billiard table, and a rooftop terrace for the last hour of the day.
Kitchen & the long table
The table that matters seats fourteen, outdoors, facing the sea. Twelve sit inside when the night turns.

The Setting

Seclusion & neighbour distance
A private domain out of town, surrounded by fields, without neighbours. The road in is winding, which is how it stays that way.
Nature, light & views
The Ionian from every bedroom, and sunsets behind the islands from the roof.
Quiet
Fields, olive trees, the sea. The first restaurants are four minutes away and none of them can be heard.
The white villa and its guest pool from the air
The Ionian through the olive trees
The rooftop terrace lounge, the Ionian blue behind it
The table laid under the olives, the sea close behind
The cantilevered facade above an ancient olive
The villa on its hillside, the olive grove around it
The terraced villa and its pool in the hillside gardens
The timber slatted facade, the sea in front of it

The Padel Court

Verification & privacy
A private court on the domain, yours alone for the week. A pétanque piste and a ping-pong table sit alongside it, so the half of the group that is not playing has somewhere to be.
Surface & build
Surface, glass and floodlights to confirm with the house.
Floodlights & play
The Ionian climate is kinder than the Aegean's: still mornings, long playable evenings.
Aesthetic integration
Set in the green, between the olives and the pool.
The court from directly above, the garden closed around it
The court at ground level, glass at the back wall

The Kitchen

Chef access & provisioning
Groceries arrive before you do, breakfast can be taken care of, and the outdoor kitchen carries a pizza oven and a gas barbecue with a sea view.
Local food, a short drive
Tavernas at four minutes, shops at ten. Corfu Town, Venetian and UNESCO-listed, is under twenty minutes for the long lunch.
Wine & produce culture
The island runs on its centuries-old olive groves and its kumquat liqueur, and both find their way to the table.
The open plan kitchen and its table against the stone wall
The pizza oven and the kamado grill beside it
The dining table against the stone wall, a pendant low over it
The same table at golden hour, the light along the stone
Dining inside at sunset, the pool through the glass
The marble island, bar stools along it
The kitchen and its table in the evening, pendants lit
Olive branches on the marble counter

Sauna, ice, spa
A jacuzzi on the third bedroom's terrace. Massages and treatments come to the house on request.
Sleep & unprogrammed space
Sonos in most rooms when you want it, fields when you do not, and a covered terrace that holds the siesta.
The pergola dining terrace against the stone wall
The villa on its hilltop, the mountain behind it
Sheer curtains drawn back on the pool and the pergola
A daybed on the slatted balcony, the hillside beyond
The living room, its staircase cut into the stone wall
The sunken lounge under its skylight, a chess board set

Weeks run Friday to Friday, with the option to adjust the days and the period in shoulder season once I check availability with the villa. Temperature and sunlight are averages, not a forecast. Winter weeks, December to February, run at €12,075. Rates are the villa's published calendar and I confirm them with the house before anything is booked.

Villa Oréa, a private villa in Corfu, Greece with its own court. The whole place, sleeps 10. The week planned end to end and drivers every day including the runs to Corfu.

The practical questions about Villa Oréa

    Why book through you?

The villas are looked after by people who are particular about who they work with, and they work with me. That takes time to earn and it is why this collection grows slowly, a villa at a time.

You pay the villa's own rate, and the week costs no more for my being in it: my commission comes out of what the villa already charges. The Concierge, Driver, Chef and Coach are quoted alongside it as one price, and I am on call for them all week. Every enquiry comes to me, so the person who answers is the person who arranges it.

Is there a security deposit at Villa Oréa?

The villa sets its deposit and it is written into your agreement before you book. Ask me and I will tell you the figure for your dates.

When do we arrive, and can we book a shorter stay?

Any day, minimum 5 nights. Five nights out of season, seven through the summer. Tell me your dates and I will confirm with the villa.

Which airport do we fly into for Villa Oréa?

Corfu (CFU), about thirty minutes away by road. A driver comes with the villa, so you are met at arrivals and driven in.

What comes with the villa, and what can I add at Villa Oréa?

The whole villa, yours alone, 5 suites for 10. A concierge and a driver come with the villa. Add a chef and a coach and I plan the week and come back with one price.

What is added to the rate at Villa Oréa?

It differs by villa. Some quote the week with the cleaning and the taxes inside it; others charge cleaning separately, or tax on the booking fee. I confirm this villa's lines before I quote, so the figure I come back with is the figure you pay.
